April is STD Awareness Month

April is STD Awareness Month that highlights many bleak statistics for the citizens of Louisiana. The state ranks lowest in education holding the 47th position in some polling, but highest in persons diagnosed with Chlamydia and Gonorrhea (2nd highest in the United States) and Syphilis (1st in the United States). The best prevention in decreasing these stats is to educate yourself…then protect yourself. Talk to your kids about sex, using protection, and sexually transmitted diseases. Free STD costing will be held Saturday, April 21st at the David Raines Community Center and at Caddo Parish Health Unit on Friday, April 27th and Saturday April 28th.
