Joe Budden praised Kendrick Lamar’s latest release, “The Day The Party Died,” on his podcast but admitted he probably won’t listen to it much. The track dropped just before the MTV Video Music Awards and after Lamar was announced as the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. Budden commended the tempo and intensity of the song but noted that it may not be for everyone. “I absolutely love it, and I’m probably not going back to it much,” said Budden. “I feel like this was an extension of ‘6:16 in LA’ for me. I feel like if you hated in 6:16 L.A., then you don’t have a chance with this.” He speculated on the muted lines in the track and suggested that Kendrick’s team may have a big record planned for the future.
